CHALLENGE
Design two book covers that pay tribute to iconic typographers, each with a unique design language, while honoring their distinct contributions to the field of graphic design.
SOLUTION
I created two visually contrasting covers tailored to each designer’s legacy. For David Carson, I leaned into experimental, grungy textures and layered type to reflect his rebellious, rule-breaking style. For Adrian Frutiger, I took a clean, grid-based approach with minimal elements and a clear hierarchy to echo his philosophy of invisible, functional type. Both covers incorporate thoughtful typography and layout choices that reflect the spirit of their subjects while maintaining visual cohesion as part of a potential series.
