This painting explores the tension between natural decay and synthetic shimmer. The disco skull, fragmented and reflective, plays against the organic textures of driftwood and foliage, creating a surreal still life. I used a limited palette of cool purples, blues, and aquas to create depth and dreamlike contrast. The piece invites reflection on transformation—how objects associated with life, death, and celebration can coexist in a quiet moment. It’s part of an ongoing series where I blend found objects, houseplants, and unexpected materials to reimagine domestic still life through a personal, vibrant lens.
